The girls soccer team heads into this season with a lot of experience from key returners Davie Stucky and Katie Eriksen. Going into her senior season, Stucky said, "Being my last year I hope to lead this team in a good direction."
Being a senior is something Stucky has waited on for quite some time now, and she is ready to lead this team. "I'm really excited to watch the team improve and grow as a whole," she said.
The team picks up valuable freshmen Morgan Waymire and Cami Mitchell, who look to make an immediate impact on the team this season with their previous soccer experience.
However, the most notable addition to the team was not a freshman, but a senior who decided it was time to try something new. After playing three years of High School volleyball, Lexie Perry decided to try her skills at soccer. With the addition of Perry, the team gains another leader, a great athlete, and a strong left foot which they desperately needed.
When talking about the decision to play soccer this year, and her expectations, Perry said, "I just wasn't into volleyball anymore. I expect to win a couple games, but really expect to enjoy myself in my last go around as a High School athlete."
Coach Stucky is also looking forward to this season saying, "We have a good group of freshman coming in and seniors with experience, I'm looking forward to seeing improvements along with plenty of good times."
With the blend of athletes and leadership, look for the girls soccer team to show strides of improvement this season.
