ALS Awareness Event To Honor Linda Smith

On January 23rd, at the High School Boys Basketball game vs. Riverside, Southeastern High School will be honoring South Charleston resident, Linda Smith. Linda has supported the Southeastern Local School District for many years through teaching, coaching, and by serving as a strong Christian example. She has been a fixture at Southeastern events for many years, always cheering on the Southeastern students.

For some time now, Linda has been battling the disease known as ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, which is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Yet, this hasn't stopped her from supporting the community that she loves so dearly.

Help us show our support for Linda and raise awareness to help find a cure for this horrible disease, by purchasing a green t-shirt like the one on the form below, and filling our gym with Green on January 23rd. T-shirts can be ordered at both Miami View and Southeastern High School offices, the Country Mini-Mart, or by emailing or and paying at the game. Cost of the t-shirt is $10. Orders will be taken until January 14th, so act fast.
