Southeastern Local Schools recently hired a new Resource Officer to be on duty during the school day. Officer Michael Seagraves with the South Charleston Police Department, began his career in November 2017. He is a 2016 graduate of Campbellsville University Kentucky, with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a 2017 graduate of Sinclair College's police academy.
While he is already a presence in the school district this year, Seagraves will also be assigned to the Southeastern school district as a School Resource Officer in the fall of 2019. He spends part of the day at Miami View, and the other part of the day at the Jr./Sr. High School building. When asked about his new position, Officer Seagraves said, “I look forward to having a positive impact on the students’ lives not just as an officer, but as a mentor they can trust and approach no matter the circumstances.”
